Corporate Governance Survey
©December 2004, 7 pages |
A corporate governance survey conducted by Financial Executives Research Foundation (FERF) and The Board Institute (TBI) in Spring 2004 illustrates the increasing emphasis on building strong corporate boards, focusing on audit committees, in particular. Public boards are substantially ahead of private boards in building strong governance systems. The data show that most respondents feel their audit committees are effective. However, only one third of public firms and one seventh of private firms currently measure audit committee performance.
