FEI enjoys a reputation of being a widely-influential voice on behalf of financial executives before the U.S. SEC, FASB, PCAOB, IASB, and the U.S. Congress on issues related to corporate financial accounting and reporting and business policy. Through the efforts of FEI’s advocacy and accounting policy committees, FEI closely monitors regulations and legislation on financial reporting and accounting, corporate taxation, pensions and health care, government contracting, the federal budget and international issues.
FEI members who are interested can increase their expertise and expand their professional contacts through participation in one of FEI’s Advocacy and Accounting Policy Committees. FEI committees meet on a regular basis and provide members with peer-to-peer interaction with financial executives who share similar interests and concerns. Committee members take advantage of the opportunity to learn from a variety of expert speakers relevant to their focus, and have their collective voice be heard through their committee’s influence on regulatory and standard-setting bodies.
FEI’s Roundtables provide an opportunity for FEI members with a common interest (e.g., the Private Company Roundtable) to join together at in-person "town hall" meetings, via teleconferences and other opportunities for networking, education, engagement and advocacy with peers from that interest group.
