Doing Business in Brazil

Here is a FELIX question from an anonymous FEI member.

We're a manufacturing company and sell into Brazil, but face 2X tariffs so locally-sourced competition can effectively ignore us.  To avoid the tariff barrier we're considering setting up a manufacturing arrangement in Brazil, but have some uncertainties about how to get funds to U.S., etc, etc.

Thanks,

Here is a response to this question from FEI member Ed Ashton.

We’re about to close on our first acquisition in Brazil, so we have some recent experience with setting up accounts, and we’re also preparing for the movement of cash.

One of the members on our team would be the best one to speak to. I’ve copied her on this email. You can refer the inquirer to her.
