On Jan. 20, 2012 the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission
(COSO) published a thought paper discussing the concept of Risk Appetite as relates to Enterprise Risk Management.
The paper, entitled,
Enterprise Risk Management: Understanding and Communicating Risk Appetite, was authored by Larry Rittenberg, the Ernst and Young Professor of Accounting at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Frank Martens, a director in the Advisory Practice of PwC.
