The Financial Accounting Foundation (which oversees the Financial Accounting Standards Board) announced on November 15 the
reappointment of two FASB board members, Russ Golden and
Larry Smith, for five-year terms beginning July 1, 2012. Prior to joining the FASB board in 2010, Golden served as FASB’s Technical Director, and is a former Partner with Deloitte & Touche LLP. Smith became a FASB board member in 2007, having served as FASB’s Director–Technical Application and Implementation Activities, and is a former Partner with KPMG.
Separately, the FAF announced on November 16 the
appointment of three new members to the FAF Board of Trustees: Paul G. Camell, MBA, Executive Vice President, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Chief Administrative Officer of CDM, an employee-owned company providing consulting, engineering, construction and operations services to public and private clients worldwide,
Dan Ebersole, former State Treasurer for the State of Georgia, and former chair of the Governmental Accounting Standards Advisory Council; and
Michelle R. Seitz, CFA, a member of the Executive Committee of William Blair & Company, LLC, a global investment firm offering investment banking, asset management, equity research, institutional and private brokerage, and private capital to individual, institutional, and issuing clients. Camell formerly served as Chief Financial Officer of CDM, and is an FEI member.
On the international front, the International Financial Reporting Standards Foundation, which oversees the International Accounting Standards Board,
announced the reappointment of reappointment of three IFRS Foundation Trustees: Clemens Börsig (Europe), Robert Glauber (Vice-Chairman and acting Co-Chairman of the Trustees, North America) and Noriaki Shimazaki (Asia-Oceania). They will each serve another three year term after their current terms expire. Börsig isChairman of the Supervisory Board, Deutsche Bank AG (Germany); Glauber is the Retired Chairman and CEO of the NASD and former U.S. Under Secretary of the Treasury for Finance; Shimazaki is Special Adviser, former CFO and Member of the Board, Sumitomo Corporation (Japan).
