Obama Issues Thanksgiving Pardon

"
Just in time for Thanksgiving, President Barack Obama issued a pardon, for Cobbler, naming him this year's National Thanksgiving Turkey. This year Social Media played a major role in the selection, with the final decision between Cobbler and Gobbler based on votes on Facebook. The President ultimately decided to show mercy to both turkeys, naming Cobbler as "the" National Thanksgiving Turkey but pardoning both.

The Presidential pardon for the Thanksgiving Turkey is a longstanding tradition at the White House.

Read more about the pomp and circumstance surrounding this year's pardon, and the story behind Cobbler and Gobbler, in this White House Press Release.

Hope all our readers (and your families, friends and colleagues) had a great Thanksgiving (for all those who celebrate it) and that all our readers have a great weekend.
