In its eighth year, the FEI Hall of Fame continues to provide recognition to senior-level financial executives who have epitomized the performance, leadership and integrity of the most exemplary financial professionals throughout their careers and in doing so, have made significant contributions to the betterment of their respective organizations and to the profession as a whole.

This year’s inductees were formally honored during an induction ceremony at the Hall of Fame black-tie gala on November 18 at Gotham Hall in New York City.

Earnest J. Edwards retired as the Senior Vice President and Controller of Alcoa Inc. after 34 years with the company. Throughout his tenure at Alcoa, Mr. Edwards served in a number of corporate and business roles and was named one of “America’s Ten Most Influential Corporate Figures in the Accounting Field” by Accounting Today Magazine. Mr. Edwards has been noted for his financial leadership on issues relating to business operations, cost reductions initiatives and process improvements.

William U. Parfet is currently the Chairman and CEO of MPI Research. Prior, Mr. Parfet held executive positions at is currently Chairman and CEO of MPI Research. Prior, Mr. Parfet held executive positions at Richard-Allan Medical and the Upjohn Company (now Pfizer). He also currently serves as non-executive Chairman of Stryker Corporation and is on the Boards of Monsanto Corporation, the Taubman Company, Lake Forest College (Chairman), and Business Leaders for Michigan (Vice Chairman). Previously he has served as Trustee for the Financial Accounting Foundation (FAF) and was a member of the Emerging Issues Task Force (EITF). He also served as the National Chairman of Financial Executives International (FEI).

Frederic V. Salerno was Vice Chairman and CFO at Verizon Communications, Inc. where he was the lead negotiator for a number of the company’s most notable mergers, including Bell Atlantic and NYNEX merger. Mr. Salerno retired after a long tenure with the company and currently serves on the board of directors of several companies in the media, energy and financial services industries.
