  • CPE-accredited conference themed “Controllership Through Change” focuses on intelligent use of innovative technology and people to optimize accounting, financial reporting, and internal control environments.
  • All sessions to be livestreamed to facilitate remote learning for financial professionals unable to attend in person.

Morristown, N.J.  Financial Executives International (FEI), the association of choice for CFOs, Controllers, and other senior-level finance executives, will host the 37th Annual Current Financial Reporting Issues (CFRI) Conference on November 12-13, 2018, at the New York Marriott Marquis. As with prior years, CFRI attendees will be given access to diversified, highly-skilled leaders and exposed to innovative methods and best approaches for managing critical financial functions. Notably, FEI will livestream the conference sessions—providing financial professionals a chance to learn remotely. Attendees have the opportunity to earn up to 15 CPE credits, regardless of whether they attend CFRI in person or via the livestream.

Sessions will be conducted by financial executives from major organizations such as Aetna, BBC Worldwide, Cigna, EY, Google, Pfizer, Walt Disney Company, and Wells Fargo. These speakers will be joined by leaders from the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB).

Kevin McBride, Vice President of Finance, Principal Accounting Officer, Corporate Controller, Intel Corporation and member of FEI’s Committee on Corporate Reporting said, “We are operating in an incredibly dynamic and disruptive environment. This creates risk...but also creates tremendous opportunity. Staying up-to-date with the latest technology, management trends and changing regulations is essential to identify both opportunities and risk. This year’s CFRI Conference is designed to provide the real-world examples of companies that have identified those opportunities and harnessed the value of people, organizational structures, management trends and technologies to create a competitive advantage in delivering value to their companies. I encourage you to join me and our fellow finance professionals as we hear directly from the some of the most forward-thinking leaders on how to navigate disruption and create value.”

“CFRI has historically served as a respected industry information and networking hub for financial executives. Attendees have often benefited from the rare access to senior leaders influencing and defining the regulatory environment we all operate within. Keeping in line with this legacy, FEI is again kicking off the conference with members of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. This year Jay Clayton, the SEC’s Chairman and Wesley Bricker, the SEC’s Chief Accountant join us for a candid fireside chat covering issues from capital market trends through to new accounting standards. For any preparer, auditor or controller—this is a conversation that shouldn’t be missed,” said Andrej Suskavcevic, CAE, president and CEO of FEI and FERF.

Wesley Bricker, U.S. SEC Chief Accountant; Jay Clayton, U.S. SEC Chairman; and Jack Uldrich, Global Futurist, Speaker and Author will deliver keynotes on Monday, November 12.

Conference attendees will also have an opportunity to connect with more than 30 exhibitors registered to date, who will showcase solutions and services ranging from account reconciliation and payments tools to evaluation and lease accounting services.

The CFRI conference is made possible through the support of the Financial Education and Research Foundation, and the event sponsors, including Diamond Sponsor EY; Platinum Sponsors Crowe LLP, Deloitte, Greenlight Technologies, KPMG, Microsoft, PWC, SmartPros A Kaplan Company, Walters Kluwer | CCH Tagetik, and Workiva; and, Gold Sponsors Duff & Phelps, Empire Valuation Consultants, Sage Intacct, Stout, and Visual Lease.
