Aaron Anderson

Aaron Anderson is Vice President, Treasurer of PayPal. In his current role, he oversees various global disciplines, including both Corporate and Product related cash, investment and risk management activities. Before being named Treasurer in August 2020, Mr. Anderson spent over five years as PayPal’s Chief Accounting Officer (CAO).

Previously as the CAO, he helped to design and implement PayPal’s corporate separation from eBay, Inc. and led External Financial Reporting, Accounting Operations, Financial Shared Services, Financial Systems, Finance M&A, and Finance Risk and Global Payroll functions. Prior to his roles at PayPal, he was the Controller of the eBay, Inc. payments segment. Before eBay, Inc., he was Assistant Controller at MasterCard and Director of IFRS Policy and Implementation at IBM.

Mr. Anderson is active in his profession, previously serving on the AICPA’s FinRec committee, an alternate to FEI’s Committee on Corporate Reporting, and the IFRS Foundation’s XBRL Advisory Committee. He has presented at numerous conferences, including the AICPA/IASB conference, Audit Firm CFO conferences, and FEI’s Current Financial Reporting Issues conference.

Prior to joining IBM, he was a Senior Manager with Deloitte, having worked in practice offices, U.S. National Office, and the IFRS Global Office based in London. While in London, he authored several publications, including the first edition of “A Guide to Applying IFRS 2, Share-based Payment and was the primary editor of Deloitte’s first technical accounting manual on IFRS. He also spent one year as a postgraduate technical assistant at the Financial Accounting Standards Board.

He received a Master in Accounting and Bachelor in Economics from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Nebraska and Connecticut and is a member of Financial Executives International (FEI) and the Association for Finance Professionals (AFP).
