Johnel Evans

Johnel Evans is the Vice President of Global Inclusion Diversity and Engagement for Becton Dickinson (BD) in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, where she is responsible for advancing BD's cultural priorities in attracting, developing, and retaining diverse talent and ensuring a culture of inclusion. Her more than 20 years of HR and leadership experience spans multiple global, industry-leading organizations including CR Bard, Medtronic, International Paper, Honeywell, PepsiCo Frito Lay and Allstate Insurance. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Memphis and MBA from The University of Tennessee (Knoxville). Ms. Evans was named a Fellow by the New Memphis Institute and honored by the Memphis Business Journal as one of Memphis’ Top 40 Under 40. She is currently a member of the AdvaMed Board’s Inclusion & Diversity Sub-committee, serves on the Board of Trustees of Girls Preparatory School in Chattanooga, TN and is a Member of the Sparta School District Diversity Council in Sparta, NJ. She is also a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, The Conference Board’s Diversity & Inclusion Leadership Council, the National Black MBA Association and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She previously served as a founding and governing board member for Freedom Preparatory Academy charter school in Memphis, Tennessee and as a strategic marketing committee member at Waterford School in Sandy, Utah. Ms. Evans, her husband, Dan, and their three children, Amber, Riley and Aidan, live in Sparta Township, New Jersey.
