Christopher T. Hatto is vice president, Global Business Solutions and Chief Accounting Officer for General Motors. He is responsible for global leadership and oversight for external reporting, technical accounting matters, development of new accounting policies and internal controls. He is also responsible for reporting financial results to the company’s senior leadership and the Board of Directors’ Audit Committee. In addition, he manages a global team charged with optimizing GM business processes to reduce complexity and costs while improving service quality and customer experience.
Since joining GM in 2007 he has served in various roles including assistant controller for Securities and Exchange Commission reporting; various regional controllership positions; chief financial officer of Customer Care and Aftersales and chief financial officer of U.S. Sales Operations for Chevrolet, Buick, and GMC.
Before joining GM, Hatto was a vice president at Goldman Sachs and the corporate controller and chief accounting officer at Tower Automotive. Earlier in his career he held financial leadership roles at Ernst & Young and Arthur Andersen.
He graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in accounting and is a certified public accountant.
