Ms. Kara Altenbaumer-Price, Esq.

Kara is a producer in McGriff, Siebels & William's Executive Risk Advisors Group. She uses her almost 20 years of experience either as corporate defense counsel or in executive risk insurance to counsel clients on executive and corporate risk and brokers large management liability programs. Kara specializes in Director & Officer, Errors & Omissions, Cyber & Privacy Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Employed Lawyers Liability, and Reps & Warranties insurance for public companies, as well as private equity and large privately held companies.

She is a licensed attorney and frequent speaker and writer on topics related to Director & Officer insurance, including how trends in securities litigation, SEC and DOJ enforcement, Foreign Corrupt Practices, M&A litigation, corporate transactions, and other matters impact a company and its executives' risk and how that risk intersects with D&O and other professional liability insurance. In addition to her law license, she holds an insurance license and a Certified Claims Professional (CCP) designation in Professional Lines.

Prior to joining McGriff in 2019, Kara led the Executive & Professional Risk Solutions practice group for USI Southwest, where she worked as a client advisor and broker for almost a decade. Before that, Kara practiced in the commercial litigation group of Hughes & Luce (now known as K&L Gates) and the Corporate Compliance, Investigations & Defense group at Andrews Kurth (now known as Hunton Andrews Kurth). Her legal practice focused on a range of regulatory and financial issues including securities fraud; securities registration violations; the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act; revenue recognition and other accounting and financial reporting issues; insider trading, commercial bribery; investment adviser regulations; Medicare and Medicaid Fraud and Stark law violations; white collar criminal defense; and audit and special litigation committee representation. She began her legal career as a law clerk for the Texas Supreme Court. She is a summa cum laude graduate of Texas Tech School of Law.

Kara is active in the community as the 2020 March for Babies Chair for Dallas; a former Chair of Attorneys Serving the Community; as a board member of the Dallas Division of the March of Dimes; and as a member of the Preston Hollow Presbyterian School Board of Trustees. Her family served as the 2013 March for Babies Dallas Ambassador Family. Her background also includes several years as a journalist prior to attending law school.
