Shantel Braynen

Shantel currently is a group audit project manager in Internal Audit at Microsoft, where she oversees the execution of projects that provide assurance over the internal control processes at the company and supports the development of others.

Prior to being a project manager, Shantel started her career at Microsoft in the Finance Rotation Program (FRP) based out of Redmond, WA. After one year in the program, she moved to Singapore to start her career in internal audit where she focused on international subsidiary and supply chain audits. During that time, she travelled to over 20 different countries. She moved back to Redmond three years later to continue her career in audit and focused more on Corporate, Security, and IT projects.

 

Before joining Microsoft, Shantel interned at PwC in New York. She also served as treasurer for the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) Seattle Professional Chapter. 

 

Shantel graduated from Bethune-Cookman University (B-CU) and has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance.

 

Shantel believes in lifelong learning and is a Certified Public Accountant. She embraces the NABA motto of ‘Lifting as We Climb’ and is an avid mentor and coach to others to help them to be their best.
