Jim Huggins

Jim Huggins serves as a Regional Partner at McChrystal Group leading regional business development, operations, and client team execution. Additionally, Jim oversees strategy and leadership development services to Fortune 500 companies and beyond in energy and distribution, healthcare, IT, higher education, government, and other sectors.
 
Through these efforts, he creates positive and lasting outcomes by partnering with leaders who are driven to make change a reality and bring about a quantum improvement in team performance. To that end, in complex and rapidly changing markets, help shape organizational functionality and culture through a set of core principles, proven processes, and leadership behaviors that are sustainable. Finally, serve as trusted advisors to our clients providing candid and proven recommendations (in combat and corporate environments) to solve their greatest leadership challenges.
 
Prior to joining McChrystal Group, Jim served in the US military for 35 years, retiring as a Lieutenant General. In his final position, Jim served as the Director of Operations for the United States Army and as the principal advisor to the Secretary of the Army and Chief of Staff of the Army on joint matters, National Security Council matters, and the politico-military aspects of international affairs. In this role, he directed the resourcing, restructuring, and execution for 1.1 million soldiers, 330,000 civilians, and a $170 billion budget. Prior to this role, he served as the commanding general of the 82nd Airborne Division from 2010 to 2012 and NATO Regional Command South (Kandahar) Afghanistan.
 
From leading small teams to some of the largest organizations in the Army, Jim gained extensive hands-on experience in every facet of leading operations, from strategy development to workforce management to solving complex operational challenges. He is a sought-after speaker, giving speeches on leadership to organizations around the country. Throughout his military career, Jim deployed on 7 combat tours and 3 operational deployments around the world.
 
Jim received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Georgia and a Master of Science from Central Michigan University.
