Vivek is a qualified Chartered Accountant from India, a CPA and CISA from the USA, and an AMP graduate from Harvard Business School. He began his career in the closing, consolidation, and business planning area for the second-largest oil company in India. His interest in digital technologies led him to Oracle Corporation, where he headed product management for the planning and budgeting applications of Oracle eBusiness Suite. During his time at Oracle, he became proficient in Java, PL/SQL, and other languages, which trained him as a software engineer.
Currently, Vivek leads Finance & Accounting and Enterprise Risk Consulting services at Genpact. In this role, he helps enterprises enhance their control environments and achieve digital transformation by leveraging data, technology, and analytics. With over 25 years of experience, including more than 16 years at Genpact, Vivek has worked with C-suite executives in Fortune 500 companies across two primary roles:
- Finance & Accounting Services: designing and delivering process solutions, deploying data, technology, and AI applications, and executing large-scale multi-tower business transformation projects.
- Enterprise Risk & Compliance Services: collaborating with the C-Suite to transform control environments through solutions such as Sox and IT Risk Assessment, ABAC/TPRM Solutions, and audit analytics.
Under Vivek's leadership, Genpact’s largest service line has achieved 9X revenue growth, acquired 5X new logos, and delivered billion-dollar impacts for global clients. Market analysts have consistently ranked the company as a top-two player in this space. He has filed for a copyright on process standards and holds two patents from the USPTO on process, control, and automation maturity models, with three more patents filed focusing on the future of finance and related risk-controls frameworks. Additionally, Vivek has developed an S/4HANA Readiness Maturity Model to assist clients in their implementation journeys.
He has defined a 00001 framework for the future of finance and controls based on advancements in AI/ML. His new focus areas include developing ESG solutions and exploring the metaverse. Vivek has filed for a trademark with the USPTO for "The Clovers" – a virtual reality prototype for the office of the CFO, where divergent functions can collaborate, access data, run analytics, and make collective strategic decisions.
A regular blogger, Vivek has shared his insights on various forums regarding the future of finance, process automation, and the impact of AI and machine learning on accounting, control environments, and planning & budgeting.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Vivek is an avid runner and golfer. He has participated in numerous marathons, including those in New York, Chicago, Paris, Berlin, and Frankfurt.
