Richard Clark is Accenture’s newly appointed chief transformation officer, business enablement. In this role, he will guide the development, design and implementation of global change initiatives across the company’s full infrastructure to enable Accenture’s strategy. In addition, he has been Accenture’s chief accounting officer since 2013, with responsibility for overseeing all accounting functions and policies, and ensuring reporting accuracy and compliance. He works directly with the Audit Committee of the Accenture Board and is a member of Accenture’s Global Management Committee.
Mr. Clark has extensive financial and operations experience, having held executive positions in several of Accenture’s business areas. He was Accenture’s corporate controller from 2010 to 2021 and served as senior managing director-Investor Relations from 2006 to 2010, with responsibility for developing the strategy and programs to maintain Accenture’s relationships and communications with shareholders and the broader investment community. In that role, he was part of the Investor Relations (IR) team ranked No. 1 in Institutional Investor’s annual survey of the sector’s equity analysts and institutional investors.
Before joining the IR team, he was director of finance for two of Accenture’s largest business units—Communications, Media and Technology, and Resources. In these roles, he was responsible for formulating and executing short and long-term financial growth strategies, as well as for managing interactions with clients, members of the investment community and Accenture’s senior leadership team. He joined Accenture in 1991 and was promoted to partner in 2001.
He served on the Accenture Federal Services Board of Managers from 2012-2017, where he chaired the Audit Committee and was a member of the Compensation Committee. He has also been a member of the Human Rights Campaign Business Council since 2007.
A Certified Public Accountant, he holds a bachelor’s degree with honors in Public Administration from Stonehill College in Massachusetts and a master’s degree with honors in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
