Kevin MacKay is Vice President, Global Technical Accounting Advisory Services & Policy in Pfizer’s Controller organization, responsible for business development transactions, technical accounting, policy, valuations, COVID-19 contracts, FASB and SEC matters, training and special strategic projects, such as acquisitions, divestitures, collaborations, in/out licensing, joint ventures, ESG reporting, etc. Kevin joined Pfizer in 2015 as Vice President, Lead Divisional Controller as the lead business facing representative of the Controller team for worldwide Finance and Business Operations until moving to his current role in 2016.
Kevin was previously Vice President, Controller & Chief Accounting Officer at Avaya Inc., a global commercial communications and technologies public company with $5 billion in revenues, from 2010 to 2015. There he led a worldwide team of 250 people whose responsibilities included SEC reporting, consolidations, corporate accounting, financial systems, global SOX compliance, global shared service center operations and worldwide record-to-report accounting activities for the company. In 2014, Kevin was awarded additional responsibilities as Head of Global Tax operations.
Prior to Avaya, Kevin spent 13 years at Tyco International in various finance roles with progressive responsibilities, including Director of External Reporting, VP Assistant Corporate Controller, VP Assistant Treasurer and Divisional Controller for its largest business segment. Tyco grew from $7 billion to $41 billion in revenue during his tenure, and Kevin led and partnered on many successful strategic transactional and transformative initiatives, including a series of multi-billion dollar acquisitions, divestitures, reorganizations, spinoffs, IPOs, debt/equity offerings and Six Sigma operational efficiency programs.
Earlier in his career Kevin spent 2 years as a commercial business operations Finance Director at Accenture and 8 years at Arthur Andersen where he worked as an auditor. He is a CPA and has a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Bentley University.
