Melissa Bird

In her role, Melissa helps lead, direct and advise on US GAAP and Johnson & Johnson’s worldwide accounting and reporting policies, providing technical accounting guidance on significant financial transactions within the business to ensure they are aligned with overall Company policies. She also advises on SEC disclosures and currently represents the Finance organization for Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting, leading efforts to design and implement internal controls across the organization and monitor the rapidly evolving regulatory requirements around ESG.

 

Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson, Melissa spent eighteen years in public accounting working at EY in various roles. She spent eleven years in Houston auditing several large multinational companies in various industries and then moved to New York and completed a three-year rotation with EY’s National Accounting Office. Melissa then spent four years providing accounting advisory services to various companies.

 

Melissa is a CPA and graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Accounting. She serves on the Advisory Committee of the American Theatre Wing and is a Tony Award voter, is a member of the New York Junior League, and a leader within J&J’s Finance Women’s Leadership & Inclusion.
