Margaret Merritt

Margaret Merritt is a partner in the Americas FAAS practice. She has more than 30 years of combined Big 4 and executive accounting experience from various corporate management roles. She has led engagements to support clients with complex accounting and reporting matters, including revenue recognition, leases, business combinations, carve-outs, and accounting for non-routine contracts among other topics.

Her areas of specialization include technical accounting, financial reporting, internal control over financial reporting, financial process optimization, project management, and organizational change management. She has assisted companies to address finance function matters resulting from significant organizational change and growth.

During her career, she has gained deep experience with the people, processes, data and technology that are integral to accounting, financial reporting and internal control functions. She has worked with numerous public and private entities to optimize their internal control over financial reporting framework, including accounting policy library development, leading the assessment of design and effectiveness of record to report controls and processes, and directing the development and implementation of remediation plans to address identified deficiencies.

Ms. Merritt received a B.S. in Business Administration with a major in Accounting from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and graduated with summa cum laude honors. She is a certified public accountant in Ohio and Pennsylvania and a member of the AICPA and OSCPA.
