Arlene Schwartz

Arlene Schwartz is a CPA with over 25 years’ experience in US and international tax with a specialty in strategic tax planning and advocacy for corporations, private businesses and nonprofits. Her work often focuses on the tax impacts of current issues, legislative proposals and product developments. Prior to serving as Tax Director at EmblemHealth, a regional health insurer, she worked at the IRS and KPMG, where she handled tax audits and provided tax and financial planning advice. She has also held tax research and policy roles at financial services companies, including JP Morgan Chase, Bank of New York and Deutsche Bank.

 

Currently, Ms. Schwartz works as a tax consultant, providing guidance on the implications of tax reform provisions. She is an active member of FEI and serves as Chair of FEI’s Committee on Private Companies (CPC), and has represented the CPC in meetings with U.S. Congressional members, the Joint Committee on Taxation and the Treasury Department as tax reform legislation was developed over the last several years. Most recently, she testified before the IRS and Treasury on behalf of FEI to promote CPC’s positions on proposed regulations
