Chris Bolash

Chris Bolash is a partner in Ernst & Young LLP’s Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) practice. Chris has over twenty years of public accounting experience and has served a variety of technology companies throughout his career ranging from publicly traded multinational companies to venture-backed, development stage companies, including assisting them with a variety of technical accounting matters, such as revenue recognition and share-based payments. He began his career with Arthur Andersen in San Jose, California in 1993 and also worked in Andersen’s Hamburg, Germany office from 1999 to 2002 as a US GAAP/SEC resource for emerging technology companies and foreign registrants.
Chris has a broad range of experience, and currently is one of the leaders of the FAAS practice’s team that addresses revenue recognition matters, including implementation of the new revenue recognition standard, and works with leading global organizations with technical accounting and financial reporting matters related to new accounting guidance, accounting policies, and transaction activity, including acquisitions, carve-outs, and public offerings.
Previously, Chris was a partner in the firm’s New York-based National Professional Practice – Accounting Standards group. In this role, Chris was responsible for monitoring standard setting activities and assisting Ernst & Young clients and engagement teams in understanding and implementing today’s complex accounting requirements under both US GAAP and IFRS.
Prior to joining the Professional Practice Group, Chris was a Practice Fellow with the Financial Accounting Standards Board for two years. As a Practice Fellow, Chris was involved with various technical application and implementation projects, as well as some of the Board’s major projects. Prior to his fellowship, Chris was a senior manager in the firm’s Atlanta office, where he was a member of the Southeast Sub-Area Professional Practice Group and also served technology companies in the Atlanta area.
Chris is a graduate of Stanford University and is a licensed CPA in New York.
