Dennis Kessler

Dennis Kessler is the Founder and President of Midwest Family Business Advisors which consults with business partners, family business owners, family members, and their advisors to assist them with succession planning, conflict resolution, family meetings, strategic planning, family offices and creating independent Boards of Directors. Dennis serves on the board of directors of four family-owned businesses and draws from his personal experience as the former Co-President of Fel-Pro, Inc., a fifth generation business that was in his family for 80 years. Dennis is well versed in the issues facing family businesses: Fel-Pro had 35 members of the family as stockholders and actively employed nine family members in the business. He helped ensure smooth transitions between generations and was an integral part of an exceptional culture at Fel-Pro, which was recognized with a fourth-place ranking on Fortune magazine’s list of best companies to work for.  Dennis has a Master’s Degree in Engineering Administration from Washington University in St. Louis. He has lectured on family business issues at some of the most prestigious universities in the country, including Wharton, the University of Chicago, Northwestern, and Washington University, as well as the Loyola Family Business Center and the Young Presidents Organization.
