Sam Roberts is the financial reporting controller for Intel Corporation, where he is responsible for external reporting, technical accounting, and company-wide internal control financial reporting. He reports directly to the Chief Accounting Officer and is a member of the Intel Disclosure Committee providing counsel on technical accounting matters, financial reporting risk mitigation and regulatory disclosure. Prior to joining Intel, he served in a similar role for Marriott International and the Deloitte audit practice for over 15 years. While at Deloitte, he performed and led teams through financial statement and internal control audits for large public companies in addition to a national office assignment. In that role, he researched and consulted on transactions related to revenue recognition, business combinations, share-based compensation arrangements, and consolidations.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in business focused in Accounting and Computer Science from Idaho State University and has been a certified public accountant in the states of California and Idaho since 2002. He is a member of the Financial Executives International Committee on Corporate Reporting.
