Salo Sredni

Salomon Sredni is an accomplished, passionate Chief Executive Officer and Board Member with a solid track record of growth, profitability and customer satisfaction. Results driven and collaborative, Salo’s distinguished career encompasses tenures in Technology, Healthcare and Financial Services industries across domestic and international markets, and private and publically traded companies.
Until 2016, Salo held concurrent positions as Board Member, Managing Director and COO of the MONEX Group, a publically traded diversified financial services organization with global operations, Operating Revenues exceeding ¥50 billion and Assets under Management exceeding ¥4 trillion. He was the only non-Japanese speaking member at the MONEX Board.
Salo previously served as Board Member, Chairman, President and CEO of the TradeStation Group, one of the largest online brokers in the US, and he engineered the acquisition of the TradeStation Group by Monex. He expertly integrated, communicated and executed the global vision that led to TradeStation’s acquisition. Under his leadership, TradeStation won many accolades, had the highest Net Promoter Score amongst its peers and was widely recognized as a leader in the industry.
Career highlights include:
  • Joined an entrepreneur-led financial markets research software development company with one office, $18M in Revenues and 70 employees. Reengineered business processes leading to a successful IPO, followed by several successful acquisitions.
  • Transformed company from a software company to one of the largest (7th in DART’s) and most awarded online brokers in America.
  • Expanded the operations from one office in South Florida to six worldwide and transitioned the company from a founder led organization to a professionally managed organization.
  • Successfully negotiated a license and launched the company’s technology in China, Japan, Korea and the Middle East.
  • Member of boards in private, Nasdaq and Tokyo stock exchange traded companies.
In 2017, Salo joined Ocean Azul Partners as a Partner and Managing Director. In 2017, Salo also co-founded Chronwell, Inc., a south Florida based startup focused on disrupting the way workers compensation is delivered by putting the injured worker first; combining technology with innovative processes to reduce the cost of workers compensation, while increasing the satisfaction of and improving the outcomes for injured workers.
Since leaving TradeStation, Salo has invested in various startups including:
  • Apollo Bank, has enjoyed great growth locally.
  • Brandzooka, a platform that enables small businesses to advertise online. Incredible growth.
  • EXO, a software developer for the autonomous vehicles that enables the accuracy of GPS technology. Exited with a 10x returns in 3 years.
  • While at TradeStation he was on the board at GMed, which they sold to Modernizing Medicine in November of 2015. He continues to be a shareholder of Modernizing Medicine as a result.
  • MOD Pizza, a restaurant chain with more than 330 locations.
  • Sktchy, a social network for artists.
  • Solomoto, an internet marketing SaaS platform provider.
Salo currently serves on the Advisory/Corporate Board of several companies:
  • Options Alpha – Miami startup looking to automate options trading.
  • Shyft – Modernizing the global moving and relocation industry.
  • BabySparks – An innovative program based on brain science to support early childhood development through meaningful play.
  • eToro USA – A social investing platform for trading. eToro is one of the world’s largest crypto-currency brokers in the world.
  • Henco Global SA – A Mexico City based logistics conglomerate.
  • Sushi Maki – A Miami-based sushi restaurant chain and wholesaler.
Salo was recognized by the South Florida Business Journal as one of Broward’s ultimate CEO’s in 2012 and by Ernst and Young as Entrepreneur of the Year for Florida in 2005. He delivered the Commencement address for the Smeal School of Business at Penn State in May 2016.
His early financial services career includes tenures with IVAX Corporation as Vice President & Chief Accounting Officer, and Arthur Andersen as Experienced Manager. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in accounting from The Pennsylvania State University, has taken masters level courses at the University of Miami in order to qualify for his CPA in Florida and yearly attends the Harvard Business School YPO Presidents Seminar (8-year participant; Group Leader). In his free time, he gives back to the community and is a member of the Orange Bowl Committee (elected to the Board of Directors in 2017), is the volunteer chair for Smeal for Penn State’s A Greater Penn State for 21st Century Excellence fundraising campaign and a trustee for the Jewish Community Foundation of Broward County.
