Derek Bradfield is an audit Partner in Deloitte’s Energy & Resources practice with 20 years of experience. He specializes in serving public and private clients in the energy industry, including power and utilities, oil and gas exploration and production, gas gathering and processing, refining, and energy trading.
Mr. Bradfield started in Deloitte’s Houston office before working four years overseas in Deloitte’s Energy Trading and Transacting group where he served many of the world’s largest power and utility and oil and gas companies. As a consolidations, leasing, and derivatives and financial instruments subject matter expert, Mr. Bradfield has served a significant number of Deloitte’s audit and advisory clients in the energy space.
Mr. Bradfield is also a frequent speaker at industry-specific conferences and regularly facilitates technical accounting and auditing for internal continuing education training. Mr. Bradfield is one of Deloitte’s top technical accounting partners having spent over 5 years in Deloitte’s accounting consultation group in national office and has many years of experience leading and delivering accounting standard implementation projects including: consolidations, derivatives and hedging, and full adoption of IFRS. He is also Deloitte’s senior technical partner for the Denver office.
