Leslie Seidman

Leslie F. Seidman is the Executive Director of the Center for Excellence in Financial Reporting at the Lubin School of Business at Pace University.She is also a Director of Moody’s Corporation, where she is Chairman of the Audit Committee and a member of the Governance & Compensation committees.Seidman is also a Public Governor of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), where she is Chairman of the Audit Committee and a member of the Regulatory Policy and Governance Committees.She is the immediate past Chairman of the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), where she also served as a member of the Board from 2003-2013.

 

Previously, Seidman was an auditor with Arthur Young & Co., a Vice President of Accounting Policy with J.P. Morgan & Co., and a member of the FASB staff. Immediately prior to joining the FASB, she founded and managed a financial reporting consulting firm, serving corporations, accounting firms, and law firms.

 

She is the recipient of the 2015 Distinguished Service Award from the Institute of Management Accountants, for launching the innovative Women’s Accounting Leadership program.Seidman has been ranked among the Top 10 Most Influential People in Accounting by Accounting Today and was named to the NACD Directorship 100 for Governance. Ms. Seidman authored the first three editions of Financial Instruments: A Comprehensive Guide to Accounting and Reporting (currently in its 14th edition from CCH).

 

Seidman, a CPA (inactive), earned an M.S. degree in accounting from New York University Stern School of Business and a B.A. degree in English from Colgate University.
