Mr. Selva Vaidiyanathan

Selva Vaidiyanathan, currently operating out of Singapore, leads GM’s GBS Finance Organization of more than 600 global  finance professionals primarily located in Mexico, Poland, Philippines, India, and Detroit.   His responsibilities include execution of global finance and accounting services on behalf of GM business units, development of the global portfolio of business service offerings, new service transitions into shared service centers, and driving enterprise level transformation initiatives and operational excellence programs. 

Prior to GM, Vaidiyanathan was based in India with a leading BPM firm Genpact.  His experience at Genpact spanned 9 years concluding as COO for a key business unit of over 10,000 employees across 6 countries and $650M in revenue.  Vaidiyanathan is experienced in deal pursuit, solution design, commercial contract negotiations, client relationship management, and leading the transition and transformation of finance, procurement, and HR organizations. 
 
Prior to Genpact, he served 9 years at DaimlerChrysler AG in the U.S., Austria, and Germany, where he has held positions in the areas of Finance, Accounting, Business Planning and Marketing.  Vaidiyanathan notably led the company’s multi-disciplinary off-shoring program and was responsible for identifying and launching offshoring initiatives, organization design, vendor selection, contract negotiation and transition of processes in finance & accounting, engineering, HR, procurement & marketing.
 
Vaidiyanathan has been an active champion of diversity programs and has represented DaimlerChrysler at the National Black MBA Association. He has worked extensively with disadvantaged high-school students in Syracuse, NY to motivate them in their pursuit of college degrees in science & technology.
 
He holds a MBA from Pennsylvania State University, a MS in Chemical Engineering from Syracuse University, and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Bharathiar University, India.
