Alex Debbink, is a Manager in the Financial Accounting Advisory Services with EY's Derivatives and Financial Instruments (DFI) team. Prior to EY, he was with the Financial Accounting Standards Board. While at the FASB, Alex worked on the Accounting for Financial Instruments projects, the Repurchase Agreements project update to ASC 860, and the Post-Implementation Review for Financial Accounting Standard (FAS)157. Since joining EY, Alex has developed depth of knowledge on the various aspects to the accounting for financial instruments, as well as exposure to other topics such as consolidation, earnings per share, and share based compensation. Alex assists clients with issues pertaining to derivative accounting, debt and other capital issuances/restructurings, sale of receivables and other ASC 860 asset transfers, issuances of convertible debt, warrants, and preferred shares, EPS (basic, diluted, and two—class method), and ISDA trades (accelerated share repurchases, capped calls, etc.)
