Greg Libertiny

Greg is a broad-based executive with an extensive background, having held senior leadership roles as president, CEO, COO, CRO, CFO and more. His core strengths are in operations and finance where he participated in diverse, hands-on, managerial, transformational, consulting, advisory, mentoring, and board roles in a career spanning 20+ years with industry titans General Electric, MCI, and RCA. In addition to leading day-to-day operations, he has been involved in the creation, planning, evaluation, acquisition, development, deployment, integration, restructuring, turnaround and / or eventual sale of businesses for three decades. Experiences span start-ups to Fortune 50 multinationals covering a variety of industries including information, communications, technology, manufacturing, distribution, the “green” sector, and a range of other categories in between. His skills have been deployed globally (75+ countries) with extensive experience in Asia, the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and the former Soviet Union (FSU) where he interfaced at the most senior levels of industry and government. Mr. Libertiny’s history as a solutions provider and optimization catalyst fits ideally into NBT’s mission as a firm of Parachute Executivesâ„  providing business driven solutions through all enterprise lifecycles.

Greg's early career began at multinationals RCA and its acquirer General Electric, where he simultaneously led organizations and was deployed globally to corporate hot spots as a troubleshooter and problem solver. He moved over to MCI, leading financial operations for its multi-billion dollar international division and subsequently took over responsibility for an underperforming business unit spanning parts of Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the FSU - growing revenues sixteen fold, from fifteen million to almost a quarter billion dollars, in a three year span. Among his unique operating achievements, Greg led the development, launch and deployment of MCI’s first voice over internet (VoIP) products well in advance of them becoming the industry standard.

Greg left MCI in 2001 when he was recruited to create an alternative wireless telecommunications enterprise spanning the Caribbean and parts of Latin America. Additional experience was gained in diverse sectors that include energy saving goods, organic & green products, alternative fuels, manufacturing, distribution, and much more. On the technical side, Greg has worked as a subject matter expert for i) the AICPA supporting  its leadership in the field of business valuation, forensic accounting, and alternative dispute resolution services and ii) the SEC on its XBRL initiative, a state-of-the-art replacement for older & less informative reporting for public enterprises.

Greg holds a bachelor's degree from Baruch College and a master’s degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University. In addition to being an actively licensed CPA he has advanced credentials in business valuation, forensic accounting, is an author, arbitrator, and mediator. He is involved in numerous pro bono activities and has spoken globally on topics including technology, operations, management and more.
