K.P. O'Reilly

K.P. is a Political Risk Analyst and serves as the Research Director at Northwest Passage Capital Advisors LLC, a Milwaukee-based investment advisor specializing in emerging market sovereign and quasi-sovereign debt. In his analyst role, he conducts research on macro trends and domestic political events providing his insights and analysis to the investment team on near-term and long-range risks and opportunities. K.P. has over a decade of experience researching and teaching in the field of international affairs. Before joining Northwest Passage, he held faculty appointments at St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY and Carroll University in Waukesha, WI. His academic research specializing on foreign policy decision making, using political psychology and game theory, has been presented at national and international conferences, published in peer-reviewed journals (Political Psychology, Foreign Policy Analysis, Contemporary Security Policy), and has a book published by Routledge (Nuclear Proliferation and the Psychology of Political Leadership). He received a Ph.D. in political science from the University of South Carolina in 2009. He also holds an MA in international affairs from Marquette University and a JD from the Emory University School of Law. He graduated from Lawrence University with a BA in Government. A Milwaukee-area native, K.P. grew-up in Greendale.
