Ms. Colleen Darragh

Colleen M. Darragh was named vice president and controller at U. S. Steel in February 2015.  As the chief accounting officer for the company, Ms. Darragh is responsible for U. S. Steel’s global financial accounting functions, which includes: external reporting, internal controls, accounting, consolidation and the company’s Global Transaction Processing Center.  In March 2016, she assumed executive oversight of both accounting and analysis for the company’s Tubular and European reporting segments.  She also added the Tax organization to her area of responsibility.  In addition, Ms. Darragh was named chairman of the board of directors of the United States Steel and Carnegie Pension Fund.

 

Prior to joining U. S. Steel, Ms. Darragh spent eight years with PPG Industries, Inc., serving in their architectural coatings business unit as well as external reporting and internal controls.  While at PPG, she also served as a Sarbanes-Oxley specialist following the enactment of the bill in the early 2000s.  She also spent five years in public accounting at Price Waterhouse LLP (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) and Ernst & Young LLP, where she served primarily Fortune 500 clients.

 

Ms. Darragh earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va., and a master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting from the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh.  She is a certified public accountant.  Ms. Darragh is a former member of the board of directors of Girls Hope of Pittsburgh and also served a term as the organization’s treasurer.
