Catherine M. Weis

Cathy is a Vice President in Aon’s Specialty Audit group within the Health Solutions practice. In her role as a leader of Aon’s Audit group, Cathy is responsible marketing and sales of Aon’s health plan audit services. She collaborates with clients to develop audit solutions that meet their needs.

When serving as an audit expert, her responsibilities include conducting plan operational assessments and claim audits, compiling and analyzing data obtained through the evaluation process, and presenting the findings to clients. 

Cathy works with other consultants to provide industry benchmarks and protocols to assist clients with vendor management responsibilities. In addition, she provides clients with industry norms, and oftentimes acts as a resource to assist with plan design decisions. 

Cathy first began working within the industry in 1981 and joined Aon (via legacy Hewitt) in 2002. Therefore, for the past 17 years Cathy has been responsible for conducting audits on behalf of Aon’s clients.

Prior to joining Aon, Cathy managed claim administration and customer service departments for a small group and individual health insurance company. Cathy has 19 years of experience in medical, dental, life, and disability claim administration and has worked in the health care industry for 36 years.

Cathy’s audit work is broad, spanning the following types of plans and audit services: medical, dental, vision, COBRA, FSA and dependent care, customer service, subrogation and third-party liability (TPL), appeals, audit-the auditor, pre-implementation, and system testing audits.

Through Cathy’s extensive audit experience, she is very knowledgeable in all the major health plan’s administrative capabilities, and even serves as Aon’s audit liaison for a very large carrier.

Cathy has conducted health and benefit audits for large and middle market clients. In addition, Cathy has worked with numerous public sector clients. Cathy’s clients represent the following industries: financial, educational, insurance, transportation, retirement, and business coalition (to name a few).
