Committee on Private Companies FAQs

FEI's Committee on Private Companies (CPC) is responsible for identifying issues of interest to private company finance professionals on a wide range of issues from legislation, regulation, accounting standards and practices, human resources and administration, and succession planning. Below are Frequently Asked Questions on getting involved with CPC.

  1. What is the minimum level of commitment I must make to become a CPC member?
There is no strict commitment, but we are seeking members who want to be engaged with their peers and will provide input to our agenda. We have four quarterly conference call meetings to discuss issues germane to private companies. In addition, we have a lot more planned for the upcoming year.

  2. What other value-added benefits does the CPC offer?
We will be holding the Private Company Priorities 2020 Conference in Washington, D.C. on March 31, 2020, which will precede our annual “Fly-In”. The conference will provide topics that are cutting edge and germane to our members, and the Fly-In is a day on “the Hill”, in which we have scheduled meetings with Congressional lawmakers and their staff to present our concerns. Past participants have enjoyed this truly unique opportunity to discuss policy and operational issues with their Congressmen/women and Senators, as well as senior Treasury and IRS decision makers. Learn more and register for the conference/Fly-in here.

  3. Are there other opportunities for me to connect and network with CPC peers and contribute?
Yes! We will be setting up roundtables, webinars and subcommittees on specific issues that are important to you, with the opportunity to lead and participate with your peers. These committee initiatives will provide you with valuable networking opportunities, educational content, and the chance to participate in the development of advocacy positions for FEI to promote on behalf of our constituency.

  4. How do I become a member of the CPC?
Just tell us that you are interested, and we will add you to our CPC community and include you in our invitations to participate in our meetings and events. We will send you an invitation to our fall quarterly conference call meeting, as we kick off the new 2019-20 year.
