Austin Chapter June 2021 Breakfast Meeting - "Economic and Fiscal Lessons from the Pandemic"

Please join us on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 to hear Vance Ginn, Ph.D. and Chief Economist at the Texas Public Policy Foundation, present on the "Economic and Fiscal Lessons from the Pandemic."

Before the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020, the gains in the economy and by historically disadvantaged groups reached record highs. However, the pandemic and associated shutdowns by governments contributed to a severe recession that destroyed the earlier tangible prosperity and led to extraordinary tax and spending policies. Join us as Dr. Ginn discusses these challenges and what lessons should be learned to better let people prosper.

Attendees will also be required to sign a waiver to attend this event, either during online registration or the night of the event.

Some of the things we will be doing in order to ensure the health and safety of event attendees:
  • Masks must be worn at all times by all participants who are not yet vacinnated for the COVID-19 virus, except when eating or drinking
  • Hand sanitizer will be provided in multiple areas of the event space

Learning Objectives

By attending this meeting, registrants will learn about the economic and fiscal effects of the last year’s events, what this means for our future, and how we should prepare for unexpected events.
