ERIS-logo,-diagonal-(1).pngIn addition to dinner, networking and prizes we will feature a Cider Tasting. Chicago’s Old Irving Park neighborhood recently welcomed a first of its kind for the city: a hybrid brewpub and cidery called Eris Brewery and Cider House. Named after the goddess of chaos, Eris also happens to be the city’s first female-owned and -managed beer-making, cider-fermenting operation. The story of Eris is that she throws the golden apple of discord (kallisti - to the fairest) into a party that she wasn’t invited to, with that being said, there are over 100 breweries in Chicago. What makes us different and mischievous? We threw an apple into the party and made a cider, too.  ERIS really represents our lives and what is represented in the building that we established our brewery and cider house in. To live in chaos is to truly be free.

We will be tasting 3 different styles of Modern Cider
  • Modern Ciders are made primarily from culinary/table apples. Compared to other Standard styles, these ciders are generally lower in tannins and higher in acidity.
  • Modern Fruit Ciders are ciders with non-pomme fruits or fruits/fruit juices added either before or after fermentation.
  • Modern Hopped Ciders are simply ciders with added hops.

Join us for a great summer afternoon!
