Skip Newman’s presentation will focus on job search preparedness, both from a ‘paperwork’ standpoint (e.g. resumes, handbills, profiles, business cards etc.) as well as networking tips, LinkedIn usage, email accounts and etiquette, elevator pitches and other related topics. Many of the tips and suggestions presented will be the direct opposite from what other ‘experts’ recommend.  The reasons and background for his views will be fully explained, and attendees will then be able to form their own opinions.  The session will be fast moving and interactive, with continuous questions and answers. There will be no PowerPoint presentation, so be prepared to take notes.
 
Skip is a retired CFO, with a background beginning in public accounting with Peat Marwick Mitchell and Co. (now known as KPMG), and continuing on in the insurance and investment management industries.  From 2013 to 2015, he was the COO of a public startup company, HF2 Financial Management.   He has assisted hundreds of in-transition executives with their job search process.   He is very active in FEI Chicago and is currently the chairman of FEI Chicago’s sponsor committee.
