The Finance Labor Model in the Digital Age
With Tim Hird and Estelle James – Robert Half
Accounting and finance functions will be different from the past, as will the staffing needs and demands they face. The future labor model will include multiple sources for skills and experience. How will these and factors such as robotics, automation and the human cloud impact management’s ability to create and maintain a competitive, agile workforce? How will they impact business models and labor pools? How might they impact your company? This presentation will answer these questions and examine staffing models companies are adopting, evolving skill sets and how to hire for and develop them, and ways financial leaders can stay on top of – and ahead of – emerging trends.
Tim Hird is the executive director of Robert Half Management Resources, the world’s premier provider of senior-level accounting, finance and business systems professionals on a project and interim basis. He oversees strategy, operations and business development for more than 140 offices worldwide.
Estelle James is Vice President Managed Business Services for Robert Half.  She has been with the firm for 15 years, providing specialist interim and consulting services.

2nd Session 4:30-5:30pm
RPA- What CFO’s Need to Know
With Angelo Poulikakos and Lauren Lang - Protiviti
Many organizations are considering the use of new emerging technologies such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA) to drive consistency and efficiencies within their business processes as well as a mechanism to drive cost savings. The introduction to these new technologies brings many opportunities, but also brings many unknowns and potential risks to the organization that historically may not have been a concern.  During this discussion, we will:
•            Describe what is RPA and why finance leaders should care about it
•            Discuss how organizations can get started on their RPA journey, including the typical implementation methodology that is followed
•            Share a case study including a live demo of RPA “in action”
•            Review some of the key risks that should be considered during an RPA implementation

Angelo Poulikakos is a Director in Protiviti’s Internal Audit and Financial Advisory practice specializing in technology risk management, robotic process automation (RPA), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), and IT compliance.
Lauren Lang is an Associate Director in Protiviti’s Business Performance Improvement practice focused on Protiviti’s Robotic Process Automation Solution offerings.
