FEI Chicago Chapter A&AB

Since their founding over two years ago, the Analyst & Associate Board (A&AB) has worked hard putting their mission statement of “providing young professionals with transformative opportunities for development into the financial leaders of tomorrow” into action. The C-Suite breakfasts have ranged from discussions such as “Millennials in the Workplace” to “Mastering your Brand.” The most recent breakfast was held on October 27th 2017 and featured a speaker platform of three active board members discussing “(The) History of Money and the Future of Budgeting”.  The YouTube video for this presentation can be accessed here.

The board has done an astonishing job in grabbing the attention of professionals from all-levels by covering topics that pertain to all individuals regardless of the amount of time spent in the workforce or college curriculum. The attendance at these events have greatly increased with twice as many individuals partaking in the breakfasts and expressing interest in continuing to invest their time in becoming involved in other events held by the A&AB.

Not only have the events expanded, but the board itself has established more expansive goals. Currently the A&AB is connecting with hiring directors of local Chicagoland companies, and posting job opportunities for interested professionals on their LinkedIn page as well as the FEI website. This feature allows for A&AB to continue towards accomplishing its goal of leveraging the mentorship and guidance from its mutually beneficial relationship with the FEI Chicago Chapter to help young professionals grow in their careers and personal lives.

On the 15th of February, 2018, the A&AB will work with the FEI Chicago Chapter to assist in developing the annual Scholarship Dinner. Currently the Scholarship program partners with 7 universities (Aurora, DePaul, Dominican, NIU, Loyola, Roosevelt, UIC, and University of IL Champaign-Urbana). The A&AB had the privilege of selecting the guest speaker two years in a row and these speakers have not disappointed. Past speakers were Tom Sosnoff, Co-Founder of TastyTrade and ThinkorSwim, and Dennis Chookaszian, retired Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CNAInsurance Companies.

With a strong network by its side, the A&AB hopes to continue hosting one networking event per quarter and to continue expanding its outreach in various Chicagoland campuses. The A&AB has hosted presentations on many of these campuses to provide college students with insight into what the organization is all about and where it is headed. Along with hosting its own LinkedIn page, these presentations serve as a great tool to spread awareness of the group and to continue enrolling motivating prospective members into the board.
