A View from the Top: What You Need to Know About Texas Education (Pre-K through 12)

At a time when Texas is the employment growth engine of the United States, the greatest single challenge to maintaining this position is the availability of an educated, capable workforce.

Todd Williams, former Partner and Global Co-Head of Real Estate Investing for Goldman Sachs, has put together The Commit Partnership, the nation's largest collective impact organization with over 200 institutions focused on improving early childhood education, increasing postsecondary completion rates and retaining effective educators across the Dallas/Fort Worth area. He serves as the Education Policy Advisor to Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings and is on the Texas Commission on Public School Finance at the request of Governor Abbott. Since retiring in 2009 as Global Co-Head of Goldman Sachs’ real estate private equity investment area, Todd has dedicated his efforts full time as a volunteer to public education. He is a graduate of Bryan Adams High School, has a B.A. in Economics from Austin College in Sherman, TX, and earned an M.B.A. with distinction from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Todd will speak to FEI Dallas about the current state of education in Texas from his perspective as CEO of Commit.
