During the FEI Fort Wayne Chapter's last meeting of the season, Alison Martin-Books, Founder and CEO of Diverse Talent Strategies, inspired both the college students and FEI Members in the audience to continue to reach both forward and backward through mentor/mentee relationships. Mentoring differs from coaching in that mentoring is based on experiences. The benefits are two-fold: The mentee learns soft skills that they may not have received in school while concentrating on technical skills; The mentor gets to learn more about the younger generation and is able to pass on knowledge and experience. This was a great evening for the Members as well as the students and professors.
