Message from the President

Team FEI Fort Wayne,
Welcome to 2021! I know I’m happy to have turned the page on 2020 and I’m sure you are as well. As vaccines arrive, I’m looking forward to climbing out of this COVID chasm.
Our November Career Development session to help us with our “Presentation Skills for a Virtual World” by   Anthony Juliano was very well done. Virtual meetings are not going away anytime soon. By now, we should all be experts in lighting, microphone/sound, appropriate backgrounds, etc. Anthony certainly gave us pointers to help us improve our virtual presence. Honestly, day to day, I’m still baffled by the people who have not yet gotten better at this virtual stuff. They should have attended Anthony’s session!
Our November meeting at Sweetwater was very well done. Thanks to Hylant for the professional development sessions on cash flow surety/trade credit and insurance captives. I definitely learned some things. Jim Schellinger, Indiana Secretary of Commerce, did a great job selling me on Indiana and all the great reasons to be part of this state as well as the northeast region of Indiana. His enthusiasm for “everything Hoosier“ was contagious.
At the beginning of December, I attended an FEI National conference titled “ICONS: Women of Note”. They highlighted women in high-level financial positions by giving them a chance to speak to the group. We then broke up into groups and went into breakout rooms. I was fortunate in that two of my breakout sessions included the speakers. They were amazing women. FEI National did a great job with that session. I’d like to encourage all of you to watch your email for more conferences being offered by FEI National as well as other FEI chapters. This virtual world is giving us a real opportunity to attend events for little or no money. Take advantage of it! Watch the FEI website.
