Managing a Cyberattack - Are You Prepared?

At this meeting, we will begin with an overview of the cybersecurity landscape and the role that financial executives play in helping your organizations protect themselves from cyber threats.  We will then conduct an incident response exercise to build your understanding of your roles and responsibilities in a cyber event.

Tabletop exercises are a great way to better understand the plans and capabilities that your company has in place to respond to a cybersecurity incident.  These exercises simulate real-world cyber situations and allow the participants to interact as they would during a live event and, in doing so, validate your company’s Incident Response plan and identify any gaps in your preparedness. Without an accurate test run of your incident response plan, how can you know that in the event of a cyber security incident such as a data breach all parties across your organization will know how to respond?

As financial executives, you have a prominent role in to play in helping to guide your organization’s response to cybersecurity events.  This exercise will help you think through a range of issues related to your role such as the security of financial data, cyber insurance, incident response retainers, and ransomware.
