All Star Dan Issel: Louisville will be NBA ready

Dan Issel, who is leading the effort to bring professional basketball back to Louisville, told FEI Louisville members Tuesday that while there is no timetable for NBA expansion, he thinks the city has a solid foundation for an NBA franchise.
Issel played for the ABA Kentucky Colonels after setting scoring records at the University of Kentucky.  The All Star spent 10 years with the Denver Nuggets as a player and coach, before returning to Louisville to lead the NBA2LOU effort to ensure that everything is in place - financing, an arena, TV and radio networks - to prepare the community.
He said Louisville and Kentucky's passion for basketball is a big positive, and that a professional team could fit seamlessly with the two nearby major college programs at UK and the  University of Louisville.
Issel is president of NBA2LOU, a group of investors and community leaders working for an NBA franchise. The group's website is www.nba2lou.com.
