We are very pleased to feature "Austin Hope and Hope Family Wines".
We are excited to have with us for the evening CJ Gormley, National Brand Manager, and Tara LaPrade, Wine Advisor Manager, from Hope Family Wines who will be traveling down from Paso Robles to be with us. They will talk about the winery, their production methods, and the wonderful wines they will be sharing.
The history of Hope Family Wines is a long and fascinating one. It dates back to when Austin’s grandparents moved from Texas to California during the Great Depression. His grandfather went to work for and then took over what would become the largest beer distributor in the San Joaquin Valley.
That business flourished until 1977 when Austin’s grandfather passed away and the business was sold. Austin’s dad Chuck decided to move the family to Paso Robles, buy some land, and grow apples and grapes. Soon the focus changed to just grapes and the Hope Family became one of the largest growers of wine grapes in Paso Robles.
The natural progression was to start making wine and the Hope Farms Winery opened in 1987 when Chuck’s brother Paul joined the business.
With Paul’s passing in 1996, Austin was asked by his dad to take over winemaking duties at the winery. Since then, as they say, the rest is history!
Now known as Hope Family Wines, the business has grown to include six distinct brands. The best-known of these are Austin Hope, Austin, Treana and Liberty School.
We will be pouring a delicious array of 8 wines that will focus on the Austin Hope brand. These will feature an array of varietals including Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Mourvèdre and, of course, two of their finest Cabernet Sauvignons!
These amazing wines will be perfectly paired with an accompanying 5-course gourmet dinner from one of Orange County’s top caterers!
