A View from the Podium: Insights into Accounting Professorship

Teaching at the community college level is a fun way to give back and to expose students to the exciting world of accounting and business.  Most students have never been exposed to accounting, which provides an opportunity for us to share our passion for the profession.  As an accounting instructor, you’ll have the opportunity teach students both the accounting skills and the soft skills that you look for when you hire.  Classes are taught both in person and online, so you can pick the modality that fits your schedule.

Join FEI Sacramento along with Jennifer Black and Tony DiGaetano to learn what it means to teach and how you can get that first, or next, teaching job.

This PD session will offer 2 CPE Credits with the following learning objectives:

  • Learn what it means to teach accounting at community college, including the requirements, the joys and the pitfalls.

  • Understand which modality of teaching (in person or online) is right for you.

  • Learn how to apply for a teaching job, where to apply, and which questions are most important.

  • Discuss what makes a good teacher and how you can make the most of your teaching assignment.

*Individuals who register as a Qualified Prospective Member must meet FEI's Membership Qualifications.
