Strategies to Boost Negotiation Success: A New Take on How to Get What You Want

This session will be followed by a networking/cocktail hour and our evening presention, "Fireside Chat with Sandra Clarke, CFO, Blue Shield of California" (5:30 PM - 8:00 PM).  Register separately by clicking here.

One of the most valuable skills a CFO or senior financial professional can learn is to be a great negotiator. Negotiation is something we all do every day, often without realizing it. As described in an article in CFO Magazine, as soon as someone takes a management role, they will spend 86% of their day negotiating – which goes beyond “deal making” (which typically relates to signing a contract or an agreement associated with a transaction). Negotiation goes far beyond this – and includes interactions in meetings and calls, as well as informal discussions in the hallway.

October’s PD session will focus on understanding the steps to successful negotiating – and we will then add an additional layer by understanding and using behavioral styles to boost success rates. You will also get a chance to practice your skills, making our time together even more relevant.
