Benevolent Bots Gone Bad: The Surprising Side Effects of Well-Meaning AI

FEI Seattle is excited to welcome Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of Phishcloud.com, Kyle Hurst, as our speaker for this evening. He will be presenting on Benevolent Bots Gone Bad: The Surprising Side Effects of Well-Meaning A.I., facilitated by Mark Petersen, Vice President of Puget Sound Chapter of Information Systems. We really appreciate Mark and Kyle coming together last minute to be with us tonight and are excited about their presentation!

Discussion Points:
  • The world of shortsighted solutions is full of unintended consequences – and usually not good ones.  Artificial Intelligence exacerbates these challenges from inside and outside any organization by speeding up the pace of decisions exponentially.
  • Security of high value target institutions will be challenged from multiple attack vectors in the next decade and trying to solve the symptoms will never solve the problem.
  • To be successful in the future and more difficult technical environment, following the same broken processes of today with AI will not solve anything, it will just lead to more unintended consequences.
  • We are required to think critically and think big about the financial industry and revolutionize how we protect our people, our customers, our data – and when we protect all of those our companies will naturally be protected.
