2015 Audit Fee Report

How do your company’s audit fees compare with those of other companies? This research report provides the results of the annual survey of audit fees. These results summarize the responses of executives from  United States 76 publicly-held companies, 92 U.S. privately-held companies and 57 nonprofit organizations. In addition this year includes SEC filers analysis.
Audit fees paid by the 76 publicly-held companies responding to the survey for fiscal year 2014 averaged $8.1 million and a median of $2.2 million for their 2014 audits. This average represented an average increase of 10.7 percent and a median increase of 3.1 percent over their prior year's audit fees.
In comparison, the total audit fees paid by the 92 privately-held companies responding to the survey paid an averaged $254,740 and median audit fees of $70,000, which was an average increase of 2.7 percent with a median of 2.0 percent , and nonprofits averaging audit fees of $107,208, with a median of $36,440, which was an average increase of 1.3 percent from prior years.
