The Centennial team has partnered with FC Cincinnati, a vibrant multi-entity Cincinnati-based organization to find an innovative and influential CFO who can spearhead substantial business expansion, optimize operational processes and propel the company towards excellence. The CFO should possess the ability to identify and tackle challenges promptly, devising innovative solutions for complex problems and possess a relentless pursuit of finding opportunities that drive profitability. The right candidate is motivated by achieving big goals.

The CFO will be a key strategic leader, meeting regularly with the key investors (including prospective investors), C-Suite executives and other organization leaders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain executive responsibility for financial operations including: working capital, capital expenditures, debt levels, taxes, budget, forecasting and general accounting.
  • Oversees the administration of processes for financial forecasting, budgets, consolidations, planning and analysis.
  • Develop and direct financial plans to help the organization achieve big goals through acquisitions, real estate and other strategic efforts.   
  • Define and oversee the execution of the financial strategy and provide useful financial insights to help make the best decisions about executing our business strategy.
  • Set up and/or oversee all financial controls and metrics within the organization.
  • Analyze current and future business operations and plans to determine financial effectiveness.
  • Manage investor, outside lending, auditor and governing body relationships.
  • Oversee the preparation and filing of federal, state, third-party and other financial reports to ensure compliance with GAAP, IRS and other governing body requirements.
  • Develop, lead and direct the finance and accounting team.
  • Help guide and influence decision-making using the financial context (short and long-term) as a primary driver of such choices.
  • Advance the organization by identifying the key constraints and then using finance to overcome those constraints.
  • Ensure adequate assessment and mitigation of financial risk for the organization, as well as compliance with applicable regulatory or other legal requirements including, but not limited to, financial instruments and debt covenants.
  • Develop and maintain trustworthy relationships with investors, C-suite peers and department heads.
  • Provide financial oversight for the organization’s affiliated 501(c)(3) entity and serve as the Treasurer for the foundation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 15 years of experience in progressive Accounting/Finance roles with at least 5 years of leadership experience (VP or equivalent).
  • Preferably worked in an organization of 200-500 employees with revenue over $100mm and multiple locations.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Previous experience with organizations or industries that have gone through rapid growth with stabilized operations.
  • Exceptional leadership skills to inspire and motivate the team through growth efforts.
  • Strives for excellence in all things.
  • Strong communication skills for conveying complex financial concepts and strategies in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to analyze financial data, identify patterns and gain actionable insights to drive informed decision-making.
  • Ability to identify and address challenges promptly, finding innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Ability to train and develop the accounting and finance team, instilling a culture of high performance.
  • Possess an executive presence.
  • Proven growth and entrepreneurial mindset.

  • Professional sports experience is not required but is a plus.
