Mark Saltsgaver

Mark Saltsgaver is currently the Senior Director of Corporate Risk Management at Eli Lilly and Company, a position he has held since August 2006. He is also president of Lilly’s two captive insurance companies, Elco and Elgo Insurance Company Ltd.

Mr. Saltsgaver joined Lilly in 1990 as a project engineer. Over the past 30 years at Lilly, he has held a variety of management positions in engineering, finance, accounting, and treasury. Mr. Saltsgaver was the Chairman of the Super Bowl XLVI Risk Management Committee and is currently leading the 2022 College Football Playoff National Championship Game Risk Management Committee. Mr. Saltsgaver serves on the Client Advisory Boards for Allianz, Berkshire Hathaway Specialty, Chubb and Swiss Re insurance companies. He is also currently the Chairman of the Elements Federal Credit Union. Mr. Saltsgaver has a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rose-Hulman and a Master of Business Administration degree from Purdue University. Mr. Saltsgaver is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Indiana and holds an Associate of Risk Management (ARM) certification.
